DocketWise Data Breach Impacts 143,000 — What to Know

What Happened?

According to SecurityWeek, immigration and legal case management platform DocketWise disclosed a data breach affecting at least 143,480 individuals after hackers gained access to third-party partner repositories connected to the company’s systems

The company investigated the incident beginning in October 2025 and later discovered that some of the copied repositories were used to transfer data into the DocketWise platform.

DocketWise says the unauthorized access has been stopped and that it has not found evidence that the stolen information has been published online. The company began notifying affected individuals in April 2026.

Who Was Affected and What Data Was Leaked?

The breach affected individuals whose information was stored in records managed through DocketWise and related law firms. The company says 143,480 people may have been impacted.

According to DocketWise, the information that was leaked may include:

  1. Names
  2. Home addresses
  3. Dates of birth
  4. Social Security numbers
  5. Driver’s license numbers
  6. Passport numbers
  7. Government identification numbers
  8. Financial account numbers
  9. Account login credentials (usernames and passwords)
  10. Payment card information
  11. Tax identification numbers
  12. Health insurance policy numbers
  13. Medical condition and treatment information
  14. Access details for non-financial online accounts

The company says the exact information leaked varies from person to person.

Data breaches can continue causing problems long after the original incident disappears from headlines. Scammers often use leaked information in phishing emails (fake messages designed to steal information), identity theft attempts, fake phone calls, or account takeover attacks. Many people do not realize their information was leaked until suspicious activity appears months later.
